Painting, Wildlife, Landscape, Abstract
In my early twenties, wishing to expand my love of nature into a deeper knowledge, I studied Horticulture and Landscape Design. Just as a class in Anatomy is beneficial to an artist who prefers to draw the human form, studying Horticulture helped me to understand plant biology, growth trends, and the conditions under which plants not only survive, but thrive. I am heavily influenced by Europe and their use of bold colour and style in their architecture. I take inspiration from both the city and countryside and apply my own style, intensifying colour with illustrative flair. My preferred medium is acrylic on canvas and birch board.
