Richard Johnson's front line sketches of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are now held by the Smithsonian Museum of Armed Forces History in Washington, D.C., and the work from Iraq is held by United States Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, Virginia. Richard's artwork is created in its entirety while in the field, and is usually combined with written reportage about the daily struggles of those he encounters.
