Figure, Landscape, Painter, Wildlife / Animals

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Rolf Krohn was born in 1939 in Consort Alberta and attended the Southern Alberta Provincial Institute of Technology and Art (later the Alberta College of Art and Design) in the late 1950's. He currently resides in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and works in all painting media but is particularly fond of painting the northern landscape, as well as capturing the human body, both in movement and in repose. Not content to rely on formula painting Rolf is interested in the role that 'play' and experimentation has in the artist's work. His love of both the object and the act of playing with the object through his love of painting is prime.
