Arc (2002)
This piece was created at the Emma 2002 Conference. The piece is titled 'Arc' (Ark) and represents the 'two of each kind' concept i.e. female and male. My contributions to this piece were two Star Folds: one star fold has all points open, which to me represented a 'softness' commonly attributed to the 'female' of a species. The second Star Fold has two points folding out and two points arcing upwards, like talons, which give a more aggressive appearance to the fold, a quality commonly attributed to the 'male' of a species. The boat is filled with numerous pieces contributed by many of the Emma participants.Photo: Grant Kernan, AK Photo
