One of the most interesting things about working collaboratively is seeing how your work becomes integrated into the work of other artists. I try not to have preconceived ideas about the piece and this is probably the biggest challenge when working collaboratively. You just have to learn how to 'let go'. When approached to create something for a specific piece, I know exactly what the collaborating artist wants. This is pretty simple. Things really get interesting when your work gets handed to another artist and they do something completely unexpected with it. This is when you learn from them.Photography by Grant Kernan, AK Photos
