From South America to Canada, Efrain is a versatile plastic artist who started his career at the Bellas Artes School in Uruguay in the 70s. At the age of 21, with a group of other artists, he established the first Association for the Arts in Montevideo, Uruguay and AUDA (Associacion Uruguay de Artesanos) was born during one of the worst military dictatorship regimen South America suffered. He moved to Brazil in 1986 where he had the opportunity to work beside master goldsmiths at H. Stern and Roditti Jewelers.
His passion for design, precious stones and metals inspired him to move to Spain where he participated in various art galleries and festivals. In 1997, he immigrated with his wife and five children to Canada, settling in Yellowknife, NWT, where he has the opportunity not only to design and made one of a kind jewelry pieces as well as he polished diamonds for Laureltons’, a subsidiary of Tiffany’s New York. His passion for his profession recently brought him to White Rock where he opened his new gallery.
