Greg Dow

I am a Canadian artist who primarily works with acrylic on canvas. My most recent paintings focus on the human condition, frequently representing lone individuals in dubious situations and jobs. Rather than communicating a clear message, I'd prefer to encourage the audience to call on their own experience to respond to the event.

I am influenced by Buddhist philosophy, particularly Zen tenets. My paintings examine the tension between daily hardships and the potential for a higher reality of oneness.

My goal is to make paintings that portray experience that tanscends words, using only visual language.
