Familiar yet not so familiar faces are transformed into powerful images with an expressionist technique. Here we are drawn into the artists’ experience of the subjects she paints. The second body of work developed over the past 9 years. Oil resist pastel drawings are full of life with texture and color. The surface texture created on paper with hand tools gives the illusion of an intricate woven fabric. This year she has begun a new series of work for Project Reach Out in Brockville. She has been fortunate enough to be able to use their images from Ghana taken by friends who do missionary work there. The proceeds from the Ghana paintings and cards are part of a fundraiser for Project Reach Out.
