My grade 9 teacher told me I should be an artist as a career. I wasn't a great drawer but I had an unique imagination. Always thinking about what my grade 9 teacher had said, I went to some night school classes. When my teacher was retiring she requested one of my paintings as a retirement gift. I was her pupil the first year she started teaching, now 31 years later she retired. I don't think teachers know how much they influence our lives. I am hoping to show at the Richmond Art Gallery in 2007.

For the past ten years Facescapes has been her main body of work consisting of large portraits painted in oils. Familiar yet not so familiar faces are transformed into powerful images with an expressionist technique. Here we are drawn into the artists’ experience of the subjects she paints. The second body of work developed over the past 9 years. Oil resist pastel drawings are full of life with texture and color. The surface texture created on paper with hand tools gives the illusion of an intricate woven fabric. This year she has begun a new series of work for Project Reach Out in Brockville. She has been fortunate enough to be able to use their images from Ghana taken by friends who do missionary work there. The proceeds from the Ghana paintings and cards are part of a fundraiser for Project Reach Out.
