'I have been painting bridges for the last ten years as a symbol of communication. Bridges not only connect the two sides, and fill the gap, but also facilitate human interaction. Paintings are like these bridges – connecting the artist with the viewer.
I like old wood and stone bridges in remote surroundings, they remind me of the original purpose and keep it in a more human scale. I like bridges in gardens, parks, forests and mountain streams, over rocks and boulders, quiet or troubled waters, still in use or abandoned, remnants of times and stories lost, all linking us to the wilderness, slowly vanishing.
It is as if the bridges themselves mirror the function of the artist.”
