Drawing, Landscape, Painter, Printmaker
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Paul Constable is a Canadian artist from Saskatchewan. His work varies in subject from figurative to landscape, often with a theme in mind. Rich oil paintings convey a unique view of the land, whether Northern Saskatchewan or the prairie. The texture of the land is depicted as a flowing, moving body similar to the ocean.

| Plein Air painting is an especially pleasureable manner in which to paint. You are outside absorbing the day in the big studio capturing a foreground that has inspired you enough to stop and spend a while there. Unfortunately the weather can also be your hour glass, reminding you to get done what you stopped there to do. Many times I have been lulled into the quagmire only to have to finish the sketch at a later date. |
