ASA presents group exhibition Five Decades of Making Impressions

(Calgary, AB) The Alberta Society of Artists is proud to present the exhibition Five Decades of Making Impressions, a group show featuring the works of artists Carole Bondaroff, Stan Phelps, Elizabeth Allen, Andie Wicherts, The exhibition runs July 1 – July 31, 2022 at the Calgary Central Library, 800 – 3 St. SE, Calgary T2G 2E7.

This printmaking exhibition honours two long-time ASA members, Andie Wicherts and Elizabeth Allen, and their commitment to the arts, their dedication to the Alberta Society of Artists and the Alberta Printmakers' Society. Allen and Wicherts together founded the Station Studio in 1977, an artist facility which provided space for many Calgary Printmakers, including Carole Bondaroff (ASA active member) and Stan Phelps.

This retrospective includes work by these four artists, all of whom were founding members of the Alberta Printmakers' Society. This exhibition will survey their work, in a variety of mediums, created over five decades, ranging from Elizabeth Allen's multi-colour lithographs, Andie Wicherts' traditional woodblocks, Carole Bondaroff's monotypes and etchings with chine collé and Stan Phelps' intaglio etchings.
