Call to Indigenous Artists: Truth and Reconciliation Public Art Commission Project

The Town of Tecumseh acknowledges the tremendous work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the resulting 94 calls to action. As the Town explores ways to address the calls to action, we wish to strengthen relations with our Indigenous community while respecting their right to heal.

The Town is seeking Indigenous Artists, a solo artist or a team of artists, to submit proposals for the creation of original artwork for permanent display within the Town's municipal building that reflects the spirit of cross-cultural relationship-building and seeks to increase the level of inclusion of Indigenous people in the community.

The commissioned artwork may consist of an original painting or sculpture that will be located permanently on public display within the lobby of the Town's municipal building. Artwork can be wall mounted or freestanding.

Proposals must be received no later than 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 28, 2022.
