ARTIST STATEMENT:
In the last two years, I have traveled extensively throughout Canada from the East Coast to the West Coast. Leaving my home in Toronto Ontario, I headed off to explore the extraordinary scenery of Newfoundland. My journey then took me to the breathtaking landscapes of Vancouver, British Columbia and the various surrounding islands. Eventually, my journey brought me to Haileybury in Northern Ontario located on the tranquil countryside of Lake Temiskaming, Ont.
My travels have inspired the creation of my scenic art. My artistic mediums include Mono Prints and various Mixed Mediums such as partial personal photo transfers onto Japanese Washi Paper, Mylar Paper, Canvas (either wooden or linen), or the production of Accordion Books.
I am extremely passionate about my art. As an artist, I use my tools to dream the dreams, see the visions, sketch the intricate detailed plans, and take the time to feel and view every aspect of my artistic creations.
ARTIST BIO:
“My Collective Works of Art” are a reflection of the good fortune of growing up in idyllic settings in the Ottawa Valley, Ontario; Vancouver Island, British Columbia; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Washington, District of Columbia (DC). Because of an environmentally nurturing upbringing, I am gifted with a deep appreciation and knowledge of love and understanding for the intrinsic natural beauty of nature, landscapes, and all forms of plant life.
As I was born into a family of exceptional female artists, who recognized my particular artistic interests and qualities, I was encouraged to travel around the world so that I could observe different cultures and landscapes. After one of my many major trips throughout Asia, I started to study the art of Chinese Brush Painting. After many years of rigorous education, I eventually earned a highly prestigious “Professional Studio Stamp”.
Today, I participate in continued self-directed art studies. I use my artistic skills to combine Western art techniques with Chinese Brush Painting to create a vision of depth emphasizing colours and various textures to give the viewer a sense of serenity through a peaceful Zen style.
