Wow, March is here and I decided I would host a party to celebrate INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY. If you live anywhere near, do stop by! It is a very informal come and go event to celebrate our creative selves, connect and inspire others. The poster is posted below.

I took some time to create some new collages on stretched canvas over the past few months, something I haven't done for a while, but still love - collage on any surface is the way I like to work and changing up the medium keeps me intrigued. I have donated one to the Bonaventure Lions Art Auction this month as the proceeds are going to our local Battlefords Trade & Education Centre, an organization I am so pleased to be able to contribute to.

December was the the wrap-up exhibition for the mentorship program of the Creative pARTnership I have been participating in the past 2 years. The exhibition, MOMENTUM, was a great display of the wonderful work our group of 9 created.

The slideshow BRIGHT IDEAS by local grade 2 students is on display each evening in the North Battleford City Hall windows. The idea was generated by the Creative pARTnership and made possible by the Living Sky School Division and the Allen Sapp Gallery. As the artist in the classroom, I facilitated the production of the drawings and classroom discussion on what community meant to the students. Terry Billings generated the community slideshow and Robin Dyck and I set it up. It makes City Hall look so happy!

I continue working on some new pieces in my various series works and have created more hand stitched textile works for Fibre Art Network shows as well as several other local exhibitions. Having the opportunity to work on smaller pieces for exhibitions has proven to be a great stimulus and a great creative break from series work.
Like little art vacations!
